Discover the Paintings of Vélez-Blanco
The House of the Birds was the beginning of a collaborative project of a street museum with artistic samples of local flora and fauna. The neighbours offer their walls to leave on them a work of art that aims to show the unique beauty of our natural treasures.

Goldfinch
The goldfinch is a bird well known for its song and its colours. It can be seen in flocks feeding on seeds on different plants such as thistles.

Hoopoe
Hoopoes are little known and are only remembered for emitting a bad smell, which they do only to defend themselves and on rare occasions. They are very beautiful birds.

Partridge
Partridges are plump and singing birds, fast when running and powerful in flight. Great mothers and powerful males. They are magnificent songbirds.

Spotted Woodpecker
The Great Spotted Woodpecker is a very plain coloured woodpecker. It is also called the white horse because its pecking is reminiscent of a horse’s trot.

Golden Oriole
The golden oriole is a very striking bird because of its colour. But it is really difficult to see, but not to hear. Its song is reminiscent of a magic flute on a river.

Owlet
Owlets are intelligent and alert-looking birds. They have a song reminiscent of a baby’s squeak. They are bio-indicators of environmental quality.

European Roller
The European roller or bluebird is a bird that visits us during the spring and summer and, after breeding, returns to Africa where it spends the winter.

Bee-eaters
Bee-eaters often give each other presents, sometimes a butterfly and sometimes, as shown here, a dragonfly. They have spectacular colours.

Blue Tit, Great Tit, Crested Tit, Blue Tit, Blue Tit
Forest birds are very attractive with incredible behaviour. As small as they are fascinating, they are still largely unknown to many people.

Partridges are well known but nevertheless still fascinating and beautiful birds of the family Phasianidae.

The Warblers
The warblers are very small but beautiful passerines where the males are the most showy and have very interesting behaviours and habits.

Queen of the night
The civet cats are clever and elusive animals, but they don’t miss out on a good grape to feast on.

The look
Wildcats are mysterious creatures with the ability to adapt to the most hostile environments and are very difficult to see because of their shy and elusive nature.

Mr. Red
The cunning foxes have to use their intelligence, wit and senses to survive against many adversities.
